(ARRESTED) Canada-wide warrant

On Sunday, October 9, 2022, the accused was arrested in Toronto, Ontario. The Saint John Police would like to thank the public for their assistance.

The Saint John Police is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Matthew Smith who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.  

It is reported that:

On September 26, 2022, a warrant was issued for breaching the conditions of statutory release. Smith was residing at a Community Correctional Centre in Saint John.

Smith is described as 6’ 2”, 220lbs, black hair, and brown eyes.  Smith has the following tattoos:

NECK/ LEFT SIDE OF FACE AND NECK - “$”, “MONEY” “POS” “RESPECT”

EYE - THREE DOTS BY EYE

LEFT HAND – “902”, “$”, STARS, DECORATIVE DESIGN LINES

RIGHT HAND - BLOODY BULLSEYE TARGET, “SCOTIA”, BLOOD DROPLETS

The 31-year-old is serving a sentence of Break and Enter, Forcible Confinement, Careless Use/Storage of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm or Weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order x2, Fail to Comply with a Probation Order, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Dangerous Driving, and Flight from Peace Officer.
