Arrests made in Forcible Entry

On Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at approximately 12:14 a.m., the Saint John Police responded to a break and enter in progress on Boyaner Crescent in Saint John.

It is alleged that:

  • Five to six men attempted to gain entry into a residence.
  • Some were armed with weapons including what appeared to be a handgun.  
  • The police were called and the suspects fled the scene in a black SUV.
  • Within minutes, police located the suspect vehicle on Loch Lomond Road and arrested five individuals.
  • The vehicle was searched and police located two imitation firearms and a baseball bat.

All five men were held in custody and appeared in provincial court on May 17, 2022 charged with forcible entry and weapon related offenses. They are scheduled to return to court on Thursday, May 19, 2022, for a bail hearing.

It is believed that the suspects were known to the victims inside the residence. No physical injuries were reported. The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate.
