Bomb Threat - King Street at Charlotte Street

The Saint John Police are investigating after a suspicious bag was found at the corner of King Street at Charlotte Street in uptown Saint John.

It is reported that:

On Saturday, June 11, 2022, at approximately 2:43 p.m., police responded to a 911 call that an unidentified man left a bag at the corner of King Street at Charlotte Street.

The caller reported that the suspect made a threatening comment suggesting the bag contained an explosive and then walked away leaving the bag behind.

Police located the bag and evacuated the surrounding area until the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit arrived on scene.

It was determined that the bag did not contain any explosive material.

The suspect was described as Black, in his late twenties to thirties, 5’7-5’8, wearing a red hat, blue jacket, blue pants, and red shoes.

The Major Crime Unit is investigating. Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has dash-cam or video surveillance of the incident at the time it occurred.
