Break and Enter Investigation Thorne Avenue

File #: 22-5749

The Saint John Police are seeking the public’s assistance in a Break and Enter investigation.

It is reported that:

On Monday, September 12, 2022, at approximately 1:14 a.m., the Saint John Police responded to a break and enter at a business on Thorne Avenue.

It was discovered that the building had been broken into and two new high value bicycles were stolen; a black and chrome NORCO OPTIC C AXS M29 and a green and copper NORCO SHORE A PARK M27.

Officers established a perimeter and K9 was called to the scene to search for the suspects.

An officer saw a parked car on Crown Street with the engine running. As the officer approached the vehicle on foot it began to drive towards the officer failing to stop. The officer was able to move but was struck by the side view mirror. The officer was not injured.

A pursuit ensued eastbound onto Highway #1 with the suspect vehicle, described as a 2013 red Ford Focus, New Brunswick license plate JEX-603. The pursuit was subsequently terminated near the Fox Farm Road Exit and neighbouring law enforcement agencies were notified.

The suspect vehicle was last seen in the area of the Kingston Peninsula where it also failed to stop for police.

Police are still searching for the suspect vehicle and stolen bicycles.
