Charges Pending Following East Saint John Incident

A 24-year old man is in custody following an early morning incident in East Saint John. Just after 4:00am on Wednesday, March-31-2021, officers attempted to have a vehicle pull over. The vehicle sped up and when officers caught up, the vehicle then rammed a police cruiser, causing significant damage.

Officers removed the driver from the vehicle, and he was sent to the Regional Hospital with minor injuries. The officers in the police cruiser that was rammed suffered no serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle is facing multiple charges including driving and weapon offences and possession of a stolen vehicle, among others. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
