Harbour Bridge Incident Under Investigation

One man is in custody and facing several charges following an incident on Saturday, July-3-2021. Just after 12:00pm, Saint John Police were called about a woman in distress in a vehicle in the uptown area.

When officers arrived, the operator of the vehicle fled the scene and crashed a short time later on the Harbour Bridge, closing down traffic both east and westbound for close to 2 hours. Following the crash, it was discovered the vehicle was stolen.

No one was seriously injured following the crash and the Saint John Police Force thanks the public for its patience as they were dealing with this incident.

No word on specific charges at this time as the investigation is ongoing. SJPF is also looking to speak with the woman who alerted officers to the woman in distress. Please call 648-3333.
