Impaired Driver Arrested

On Saturday, September 25, 2021, at approximately 1:06am, officers with the Saint John Police Force responded to reports of an impaired driver in the uptown area. It was reported that:

-A vehicle struck a parked vehicle in a parking lot.  

-A resident called police, provided description of the vehicle and direction of travel.

-Vehicle was said to be traveling at a high rate of speed and through stop signs.

-Officers located the vehicle and a 78-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving.

-The man arrested is on parole.

Correctional Services Canada has been notified and apprehension and suspension warrants have been issued. The 78-year-old has been returned to a federal institution and will appear in court at a later date, answering to the charge of impaired driving.
