Investigation of Assault Involving Woman Engaged in Street Work

On Wednesday, September 29, 2021, the Saint John Police Force received a complaint and has been investigating, after a woman engaged in street work, was assaulted, thrown into the back of a vehicle, driven to a secluded area, and sexually assaulted.

This incident appears to be targeted toward women engaged in street work. Along with its investigation, the Saint John Police Force is working closely with local agencies and women in the area of Waterloo Street.

In the interest of public safety, the Saint John Police Force is sharing with residents a description of a suspect and the vehicle he may be driving:

-A white man in his late thirties, athletic build, naturally bald and speaks aggressively.

-The vehicle is described as an older sedan with newer silver or grey paint.

The Saint John Police Force urges people, especially women, not to walk alone at night and always be cognizant of your surroundings.
