Loch Lomond Road Motor Vehicle Collision

On Tuesday, January 4th, 2022, at approximately 5:28 p.m., the Saint John Police Force responded to a motor vehicle collision on Loch Lomond Road. It is alleged that:

-the complainant’s vehicle was travelling east bound on Loch Lomond Road.

-the suspect vehicle was travelling west bound on Loch Lomond Road when it crossed the centre line and collided with the complainant’s vehicle.

-a 45-year-old woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  

-the suspect vehicle fled the scene, but it was later located by police in the parking lot of a nearby mall.

-the suspect vehicle failed to stop for police and a brief pursuit ensued in the parking lot of the mall nearly colliding with a police vehicle.

-due to the amount of pedestrian and vehicle traffic, the pursuing officer terminated the pursuit in the interest of public safety.

-the suspect vehicle proceeded onto Westmorland Road towards McAllister Drive.

-at approximately 7:20 p.m., upon further investigation, a 40-year-old male suspect was located and arrested for failing to remain at the scene of an accident, failing to stop for police, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He was also issued a motor vehicle ticket for driving without a valid license. The suspect vehicle was also located and seized.

-the accused has been released from custody and scheduled to appear in court on March 31st, 2022.
