Man arrested in murder

On Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10:43 p.m., the Saint John Police Force responded to a stabbing on Rockland Road.

It is alleged that:

Two adult men known to each other and driving two separate vehicles were involved in an altercation.

One driver stabbed the other driver.

Within minutes, the police arrived on scene to discover a 30-year-old man unresponsive on the ground. He was transported to hospital and later pronounced deceased.

A 28-year-old man was taken into custody and subsequently arrested for murder.

The Saint John Police Force Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit were called to the scene and continue to investigate.

The accused is expected to appear in provincial court on January 13, 2022.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has dash-cam or video surveillance of the incident at the time it occurred.
