National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

The week of April 11-17, 2021 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. The 7 days gives the Saint John Police Force a chance to say thank you for the incredible work done by our Public Safety Communications Centre officials every day.

“The PSCC never closes and whether it is an emergency/non-emergency, their calm voices are the first one you hear and share your information with,” says Deputy Chief Tony Hayes. “Their training ensure that any call from a citizen is handled promptly and professionally in any emergency situation,” adds Hayes.

The Saint John Police Force Public Safety Communications Centre receives approximately, 40,000 9-1-1 calls annually, with 19-full time employees, some with 25 years of experience.
