Possibly Armed Person Alpine Street/ Morley Crescent Area

On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at approximately 1:56 p.m., the Saint John Police responded to a report of a possibly armed person in the area of Alpine Street and Morley Crescent in Saint John.

It is reported that:

-the caller saw a 16–17-year-old male put what they believed to be a handgun in his bookbag.

-the caller could not confirm if the firearm was real or imitation.   

-the suspect was described as wearing a grey sweater

and jeans carrying a black book bag.

Officers and K9 responded to the area and conducted a search for the suspect, but he was not located.

As a precaution, officers also responded to Forest Hills School and the Irving Oil Field House was asked to temporarily lockdown. Both have since returned to normal operations.

Police have no confirmation that the firearm was real. Police continue to investigate.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has dash-cam or video surveillance of the incident at the time it occurred.
