UPDATE 3: Missing Person - Gerald Surnode, 17

The Saint John Police continues their search for a missing young person.

It is reported that:

On Monday, April 25, 2022, Gerald Surnode, 17, was reported missing to police. Gerald lives on the lower west side; however, he was last seen at Samuel de Champlain School located at 67 Ragged Point Road in Saint John on Monday, April 25, 2022, at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Gerald is described as 5'6, slight build, short black hair, and was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with dark pants.

Today, a team of investigators are exploring various investigative avenues, canvassing the residences in the area of Samuel de Champlain School, and with the assistance of the Saint John Fire Department are searching shorelines in the area.

Police have received several possible sightings of someone wearing a red hooded sweatshirt in the area of Boar's Head Nature Preserve on Monday, April 25, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m. and Ragged Point Road on both Monday, April 25, 2022, at approximately 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at approximately 9:00 a.m. If any member of the public was walking in these areas at that these times, please contact police immediately.

The Saint John Police are asking anyone that lives or works in these areas to check their properties and outbuildings, including any video surveillance footage.

Gerald’s well-being and safe return, regardless of the circumstances, is the primary focus of our ongoing investigation. Anyone is encouraged to contact police immediately if they know of Gerald’s whereabouts. More information will be made available as the investigation permits.
