(Update) Aggravated Assault Investigation - Peters Street

On Monday, November 14, 2022, the 31-year-old suspect turned herself in without incident. She was arrested for Aggravated Assault and later released on an undertaking with conditions to return to court on February 23, 2023.

The Saint John Police are investigating an aggravated assault that leaves one person in hospital. 

It is reported that:

On Friday, November 11, 2022, at approximately 2:48 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a parking lot on Peters Street where someone had reportedly been stabbed. 

Police arrived on scene to discover a 40-year-old woman had sustained injuries as a result of an altercation. She was transported to hospital where she remains in serious condition. 

The suspect, a 31-year-old woman believed to be known to the victim, had allegedly fled the scene before police arrived. 

The Saint John Police Major Crime Unit and Forensic Services were called to investigate. Justice and Public Safety canine services also assisted in a search of the area.

Investigators are urging the suspect to turn herself into police. 

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has video surveillance of the incident at the time it occurred.
