Street: Charlotte Street at Duke Street intersection
Date:  June 3, 2026 (beginning at 7:00 a.m.)
Duration: Sixty (60) days
Direction: In all directions
Action:
 Intersection of Charlotte Street and Duke Street will be closed to traffic in all directions
More Information: A detour will be indicated. Access to businesses and residences within the affected area will remain available.
Description of work: Infrastructure installation/upgrades

The intersection of Charlotte Street and Duke Street will be closed to all traffic for approximately 2 months while underground infrastructure is installed and surface infrastructure is reinstated.

Action: No parking will be permitted on Prince William Street between Duke Street and Queen Street. The street will be reduced to one lane for the duration of the work. Emergency vehicles will maintain access at all times.

Specific area: Loch Lomond Road from Westmorland Road to Seely Street, Thorne Avenue from Seely Street to Atlantic Superstore entrance; Seely Street from Loch Lomond Road to overpass; Russell Street from Seely Street to Rothesay Avenue.

Time: Milling and paving work will occur between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. All other work related to the project will occur during regular business hours.

The City of Saint John is announcing a traffic lane reduction starting Tuesday, April 29 on Charlotte Street in front of 99 King Street to accommodate the large development at this location.
Street: Charlotte Street
Specific Area: In front of 99 King Street
Date: April 29, 2025
Duration: Approximately 12 months*
*Timelines on construction projects of this size could change. The City will notify the community if it’s expected to.
Details: Charlotte Street will be reduced to one lane in front of 99 King Street to facilitate the ongoing development of the property.
This lane reduction will not impact Saint John Transit routes, which will continue to operate without disruption. Road signage will be prominently displayed to guide motorists, and we encourage everyone to drive carefully, taking special care around pedestrians and workers.
