Parking bans help crews safely remove snow and keep streets clear during the winter months.
When are parking bans declared?
- Parking bans can happen any time during winter when snow or ice needs to be removed from city streets.
There are two areas in the city where different bans may apply:
- North, East & West (NEW) - all streets in these areas
- South Central Peninsula (SCP) - all streets in the uptown/South end of the City
- Selected Streets: No Parking for snow clearing - Public works select specific problem streets and post physical signs.
Once a ban is announced, you cannot park on the street during these times:
- South Central Peninsula (SCP): 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- North, East & West (NEW): 12:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.
- Selected Streets: No Parking for snow clearing: Selected streets will have no on-street parking from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
