Shoppers at Queen Square Farmers Market

Farmers' Markets

Farmers’ markets are a great place to pick up some fresh produce, locally-sourced meats and seafood, international dishes, local handworks, and more. But it’s the experience of a farmers’ market that makes regular visits such a pleasure. You get to meet the producers and artisans, listen to local musicians, bump into friends, and be part of the energy that makes living in a city like Saint John so wonderful.

Saint John City Market

In the heart of uptown Saint John, the Saint John City Market is as iconic as buildings and experiences get. The oldest farmers’ market in Canada, this collection of eclectic and dynamic vendors welcome visitors from within storied walls, and under a fascinating roof—shaped like an inverted ship’s hull. Locals and visitors alike flock to the City Market—just steps from beautiful King’s Square—for local produce and seafood, international dishes, and crafts by local artists. Come to shop for dinner, or, just grab a coffee and pastry and take in the historic vibe.

Saint John Night Market

Located on South Market Street, the Saint John Night Market is an open-air market that offers a wonderful reason to enjoy your City after dark in a whole new way. Open every Thursday evening during the summer and fall, the Night Market offers a unique variety of food and crafts from local vendors that changes weekly.

Queen Square Farmers’ Market

Another reason living in and visiting uptown is always a dynamic experience. Nestled in historic Queen Square, the Queen Square Farmers’ Market brings the community together for healthy food, good friends, and fresh air. Local vendors set up shop every Sunday morning between May and October.
