By-Law Number CP 111-150 A Law to Amend the Zoning By-Law of The City of Saint John

Public Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of The City of Saint John intends to consider giving third reading to the bylaw entitled, “By-Law Number CP 111-150 A Law to Amend the Zoning By-Law of The City of Saint John” at its meeting of May 15, 2023.

The amendment affects a number of sections of the Zoning By-law and includes amended definitions for two land uses “supportive facility” and “supportive housing”; and amended provisions relating to the use of shipping containers as accessory buildings and structures in certain zones. The amendments will facilitate a streamlined approach to approving the use of “shipping containers” as an accessory use in certain Zones across the City and also update the “Supportive Housing” and “Supportive Facility” uses to best address the changing needs within the housing continuum.

In accordance with the Local Governance Act, the bylaw will be read in summary only, if no member of Council objects.
