Proposed Municipal Plan Amendment, Rezoning and Section 59 Amendment RE:60 Technology Drive

Public Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of The City of Saint John intends to consider amending The City of Saint John Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., by:

  1. Adoption of an amendment to the Municipal Development Plan which would revise Policy LU-68 to recognize that the Somerset Business Park may be further developed with medium to high density residential land uses;
  2. Redesignating on Schedule A of the Municipal Development Plan, land having an approximate area of 13.71 hectares, located at 60 Technology Drive, also identified as PID 55144109 and PID 55190458, from Employment Area, Local Centre, and Urban Neighbourhood to Urban Neighbourhood, as illustrated below;
  3. Redesignating on Schedule B of the Municipal Development Plan, land having an approximate area of 13.71 hectares, located at 60 Technology Drive, also identified as PID 55144109 and PID 55190458, from Business Centre, Stable Residential, and Local Centre to Medium to High Density Residential, as illustrated below
  4. Rezoning a parcel of land having an area of approximately 13.71 hectares, located at 60 Technology Drive, also identified as PID Numbers 55144109 and 55190458, from Business Park Commercial (CBP) to High-Rise Residential (RH).
  5. Amending the Section 59 conditions imposed on the January 11, 1999 rezoning of the property located at 899 Somerset Street also identified as being PID Numbers 55144109 and 55190458 to permit a revised proposal.

REASON FOR CHANGE:

To permit a development consisting of multi-unit residential buildings.
