Proposed Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment Re: 2100 Sandy Point Road

Public Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of The City of Saint John intends to consider amending The City of Saint John Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law at its meeting to be held through remote participation on Monday, March 29, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., by:

  1. Re-designating on Schedule A of the Municipal Development Plan, land having an area of 8.57 hectares, located at 2100 Sandy Point Road, also identified as a portion of PID No. 55233233 and PID No. 55233977, from Park and Natural Area and Rural Resource Area to Stable Area as illustrated below;
  2. Re-designating on Schedule B of the Municipal Development Plan, land having an area of 8.57 hectares, located at 2100 Sandy Point Road, also identified as a portion of PID No. 55233233 and PID No. 55233977, from Rural Resource and Park and Natural Area to Major Community Facility and extend the boundary of the Primary Development Area (PDA) as illustrated below;
  3. Rezoning land having an area of approximately 8.57 hectares, located at 2100 Sandy Point Road, also identified as a portion of PID No. 55233233 and PID No. 55233977, from Rural (RU) to Major Community Facility (CFM), as illustrated below.

To permit a retirement community

Written objections to the amendment may be provided in writing and/or verbally at the Public Hearing to be held by Common Council. You can do so by submitting your comments on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. through remote participation. To register for participation in the hearing, either by videoconferencing or by telephone, please contact the City Clerk’s Office in advance at commonclerk@saintjohn.ca.

Signed letters should be addressed to the Mayor and Members of Common Council, City of Saint John, P.O. Box 1971, Saint John, NB, E2L 4L1, and should be received on or before Thursday, March 25, 2021.  Letters can also be sent by facsimile to the City Clerk’s Office at (506) 674-4214, or by e-mail at commonclerk@saintjohn.ca.  All submissions will be provided to Common Council for consideration as part of the public hearing process.
