Proposed Municipal Plan And Zoning By-law Amendment Re: Lands Adjacent To 2400 Ocean Westway

Public Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of The City of Saint John intends to consider amending The City of Saint John Municipal Plan and Zoning By-law at its meeting to be held through remote participation on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., by:

  1. Re-designating on Schedule A of the Municipal Development Plan, land having an approximate area of 0.4 hectares, located adjacent to 2400 Ocean Westway, also identified as a portion of PID No. 55095855, from Park and Natural Area to Rural Resource Area as illustrated below on Map 1;
  2. Re-designating on Schedule B of the Municipal Development Plan, land having an approximate area of 0.4 hectares, located adjacent to 2400 Ocean Westway, also identified as a portion of PID No. 55095855, from Park and Natural Area to Rural Resource Area as illustrated below on Map 1;
  3. Rezoning a parcel of land having an area of approximately 1.34 hectares, located adjacent to 2400 Ocean Westway, also identified as a portion of PID No. 55095855 and PID No. 00369496, from Rural (RU) to Pit and Quarry (PQ), as illustrated below on Map 2.

REASON FOR CHANGE:

To construct a new access road for an existing quarry.

Written objections to the amendment may be provided in writing and/or verbally at the Public Hearing to be held by Common Council. You can do so by submitting your comments on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. through remote participation.  To register for participation in the hearing, either by videoconferencing or by telephone, please contact the City Clerk’s Office in advance at commonclerk@saintjohn.ca

Signed letters should be addressed to the Mayor and Members of Common Council, City of Saint John, P.O. Box 1971, Saint John, NB, E2L 4L1, and should be received on or before Wednesday, March 31, 2021.  Letters can also be sent by facsimile to the City Clerk’s Office at (506) 674-4214, or by e-mail at commonclerk@saintjohn.ca.  All submissions will be provided to Common Council for consideration as part of the public hearing process.
