Fire Community Needs Survey

Saint John Fire Department Community Needs survey now open for public engagement

The City of Saint John invites Saint John residents, businesses and visitors to provide feedback through a community needs survey that will help shape our fire services and guide the Saint John Fire Department in the development of their 15-year strategic plan.

The Saint John Fire Department, with over 160 firefighters, command personnel, training staff, and support personnel, operates from six strategically placed fire stations and a training academy. They cover 315 square kilometers of urban, rural, and undeveloped land, serving the City’s 75,000 residents.

Saint John Fire Department is committed to developing strategic initiatives and resource allocation that will prioritize community needs and effective service. The survey results will offer direction related to fire infrastructure investments, allocation of resources, and provide a better understanding of the community’s needs, expectations and concerns related to fire-rescue services. The public is encouraged to join the discussion and share their ideas through a Community Needs Survey, which takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.

The survey is available on the City’s public engagement platform, Shape Your City Saint John, until August 25, 2024. Paper copies of the survey will be available to complete in person at the Customer Service Centre at City Hall.
