Fundy Winterfest 2024

Citizens invited to Fundy Winterfest

The City of Saint John will play host to winter wellness events through February and March, in partnership with Fundy Winterfest.

Fundy Winterfest is a 6-week long event from February 1 to March 10, 2024, where people celebrate and embrace winter as an opportunity to connect across generations, communities, classes and cultures.

The 6 communities of Rothesay, Quispamsis, Hampton, Saint John, Grand Bay-Westfield and St. Martins welcome you to participate in winter initiatives that empower everyone, including our most vulnerable residents, to be active in winter!

Passport to Parks: Rockwood Park Glows

Rockwood Park and Lily Lake will play host to an afternoon and evening of wintery activities to warm up to Saturday, February 3. Come out and enjoy live music, DJ, trolley rides, First Nations storytelling, face painting, food vendors, and fireworks at 7:00 p.m.

Warm up inside with hot chocolate, snacks, and story time. The fun continues into the evening with a bonfire, and fireworks. Prizes will be awarded to individuals/families dressed in their brightest outfit. All activities are free and take place from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lily Lake and the Rockwood Park Interpretation Centre, weather and conditions permitting.

Due to the event, vehicle traffic into Rockwood Park will be restricted between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Barricades will be in place at the main gate into Rockwood Park during this time. The gate will be set up at the Lake Drive South entrance on Mount Pleasant Avenue.

People wishing to park in Rockwood Park during this time have four options inside the park.  The top parking lot on the right at the entrance to the Park, the two parking lots at Fisher Lakes, and the Saint John Horticultural Association parking lot.

Those community members with a disability who require accessible parking should speak to staff at the traffic checkpoint for assistance.

The Fisher Lakes Parking lot is accessed through the back parking lot off Hawthorne Avenue Extension.
