COVID-19 operational changes to municipal services and facilities following shift to level 1 in New Brunswick

The City of Saint John has adjusted operational measures following the Provincial Government’s shift to level 1 of the winter COVID plan. These steps are being taken to ensure the health and safety of our workforce and public, and the continued reliable delivery of services to the community.

City staff are here to serve you! When possible, please reach out to us by phone, email or online. If in-person visits are required, our Customer Service Centre remains open during regular business hours.

The following operational changes to municipal services and facilities will be implemented as of 11:59 p.m. AST on Friday, February 18, 2022, and until further notice.

Community Centres

  • Both the Carleton Community Centre and the Nick Nicolle Community Centre have had no programming for children under the age of 12, as per the Government of New Brunswick level 2 restrictions. Level 1 will allow for a gradual return to organized sport and recreation activities for children under 12 bubbled. Facility staff will be reviewing the revised restrictions for Level 1 and will update program offerings accordingly.
  • Masks are required at all times (except while drinking or eating) and physical distancing is also required.  Vaccination documentation will continue to be checked prior to entry for those aged 12 and over.
  • Food security programs will continue at the entrance of the facility. Individuals without vaccination documentation will not be allowed to enter past the checkpoint.

Saint John Arenas

All City of Saint John Arenas will operate at regular hours and capacity.
