Fire hydrant flushing continues in Saint John North including Millidgeville

The City of Saint John is proceeding with the annual fire hydrant flushing program to clean the water distribution pipes in various areas of the City. Over the next few weeks, the focus for the program will be in Saint John North. Hydrants will be flushed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. This may affect water customers in the areas north of Saint Point Rd. and the intersection at Millidge Avenue and Somerset Street. This includes neighbourhoods and subdivisions off Boars Head Road, Woodward Avenue, University Avenue and Kennebecasis Drive.

Customers may experience turbidity (dirty or cloudy) water for up to 20 minutes if they use water during the time that the line on their street is being flushed. If customers notice a drop in water pressure, at no time should they be without water. The water is safe to consume.

The City will notify the public when the fire hydrant flushing program begins in other areas.
