By-Law Number LG-7 A By-Law for the Storage, Collection and Disposal of Solid Waste in The City of Saint John

Public Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of The City of Saint John intends to consider giving third reading to the bylaw entitled, “By-Law Number L.G.-7, A By-Law for the Storage, Collection and Disposal of Solid Waste in The City of Saint John” at its meeting of May 5, 2025.

Circular Materials is enhancing recycling accessibility for packaging and paper products by offering curbside recycling collection services for apartments and condos with more than four units. Expanding recycling options benefits the environment, extends the life of the regional landfill, and supports the city's WasteWise Program. Owners of larger apartments must register in advance for Circular Materials to begin collecting recycling. City staff are recommending adoption of the by-law to compel more owners in Saint John to register by the May 31, 2025 deadline.

In accordance with the Local Governance Act, the bylaw will be read in summary only, if no member of Council objects.
