Temporary Swimming Closure in Effect at Fisher Lakes

The City of Saint John is advising residents that Fisher Lakes in Rockwood Park are temporarily closed for swimming due to elevated bacteria levels identified through recent water testing conducted by Public Health.

Swimming is not permitted at Fisher Lakes until further notice.

Warning signs have been posted at the site, and lifeguards will be on duty during regular operating hours to advise visitors and help ensure safety.

This closure applies only to swimming at Fisher Lakes. No other City beaches or swimming areas are impacted at this time.

While swimming is not permitted, residents and visitors can continue to enjoy Rockwood Park for a variety of other recreational activities. Walking or running along the shoreline, hiking nearby trails, picnicking, and relaxing in the park remain safe and encouraged. Visitors are asked to avoid entering the water while the swimming advisory remains in effect.

Testing will continue at Fisher Lakes, and the City will provide updates as additional information becomes available and Public Health determines when conditions are safe for swimming to resume.
