Traffic Advisory: AREA 506 and International Culture Fest

The City of Saint John would like to advise the public of the following traffic interruption that will begin Thursday, July 30 on Water Street. This closure is necessary to allow for food trucks, pedestrian foot traffic, and special events as part of the Area506 Music Festival and the International Culture Fest. 

Street name: Water Street

Date:  July 30, 2026

Duration:  Five (5) days

Time: 12:00 p.m. July 30 to 8:00 a.m. August 3.

Direction: In both directions

Action: Road closed to through traffic. 

Specific area: Water Street will be closed from King Street to Duke Street from July 30 to August 3 for Area 506 Music Festival. Water Street will also be closed from Duke Street to the Marco Polo Cruise Terminal July 31 to August 2 for the International Culture Fest. 

Road signage and sidewalk directional signage will be in place. Motorists are asked to drive with caution and be aware of pedestrians and workers.
