Beautification Grants

2025 Beautification Grant Program Applications are now being accepted

The City of Saint John is inviting residents and property owners in the Old North End and Douglas Avenue area to take part in the 2025 Beautification Grant Program, designed to spark vibrant curb appeal and strengthen neighbourhood pride.

Whether it’s painting a fresh façade, planting eye-catching greenery, or planning a transformative landscaping project, the program offers financial support to help bring these visions to life.

Since launching in 2016, the initiative has already provided over $100,000 in funding. Enhancements to the program last year, allow homeowners completing improvements themselves to receive up to 100% reimbursement on material costs. Contractor-assisted projects still qualify for 35% coverage on façade and yard upgrades.

All grant work must be pre-approved. Starting work before approval makes applications ineligible.

Saint John’s Beautification Grant Program is a cornerstone of the City’s Municipal Grants Program, which aligns with PlanSJ’s vision: to build a thriving community that attracts residents, businesses, and visitors. From arts and culture to recreation and heritage, these grants make space for beauty, wellness, and connection.
