City invites the public to participate in Public Engagement Session for Comprehensive Parking Study

The City of Saint John invites residents to an in-person public engagement session on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 1 Market Square (former museum entrance, Level 1). This session is part of the Saint John Comprehensive Parking Study focused on the South-Central Peninsula neighbourhood.

What to Expect:

  • Overview of the study
  • Update on work completed to date
  • Information on next steps
  • Opportunity to provide feedback on initial findings

Your feedback on:

  • Parking space availability and accessibility
  • Opportunities to reduce congestion and improve parking availability
  • Enhanced signage and clearer guidance for parking
  • Parking enforcement
  • Parking fees

Goals of the Study:

  • Review Current Parking Services, including parking inventory, capacity, and demand. 
  • Provide Strategic Recommendations for short-term and long-term parking improvements aligned with the City’s existing plans, such as MoveSJ. 
  • Evaluate Emerging Trends like active transportation, and greening parking services. 
  • Enhance Accessibility and Support Smart Development.
  • Engage the Community and Stakeholders.
  • Benchmark with Similar Municipalities and prioritize recommendations with clear timelines for implementation.

The public is encouraged to join the discussion, share their thoughts and help shape the future of parking in Saint John.
