City waives sidewalk café permit fees and extends the sidewalk café season by one month

To support local businesses in the Uptown area, the City of Saint John has implemented the Sidewalk Café rebate initiative. This initiative will effectively waive all sidewalk café permit fees for the 2021 season, which runs from May 1 – October 31.   

It’s going to be a great patio season with the warm weather on the way. The City is encouraging everyone to get out and enjoy the beautiful uptown core this summer, while at the same time supporting local businesses.   

Businesses interested in applying for a Sidewalk Café permit can do so by visiting www.saintjohn.ca or in-person at the One Stop Development Shop, first floor of City Hall Customer Service Centre.
