Mayor’s Tree Lighting and Ornament Exchange at Uptown Sparkles

Join the community for a festive new tradition!

This year, the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting at Uptown Sparkles will feature an Ornament Exchange: a celebration of creativity, culture, and connection in Saint John.

Tree Lighting Event Details:

• Date: December 5, 2025
• Time: Lighting at 6 pm, come early to enjoy hot chocolate, soak in the holiday atmosphere, and take part in the ornament exchange.
• Location: City Hall, 15 Market Square

How it works:

• Bring an ornament that reflects your family, traditions, or creativity.
• Exchange it for one on the tree.
• The Mayor will start the tree with a few ornaments, but we invite everyone (residents, families, and local businesses) to help fill the branches.

This is a community-wide exchange designed to celebrate what makes Saint John so special. By the end of the night, we hope every ornament on the tree finds a new home!
