River Watch advisory in effect for Saint John

The Saint John Emergency Management Organization (SJEMO) is advising residents that New Brunswick River Watch is forecasting a rise in water levels in the Saint John River over the coming days. As of April 19, 2023, water levels were reported at 3.33 metres, approximately 0.87 metres below flood level and are forecasted to reach 3.9 metres by Friday, April 21. This would elevate the level to 0.3 metres below flood level. At this time, Saint John is at the “watch” level and expected to reach the “warning” level by Friday. 

Those who live in low-lying areas along the Saint John and Kennebecasis Rivers who have been prone to flooding are reminded to take extra precautions to protect themselves and their property.

The SJEMO continues to monitor flooding forecasts and will update the public as needed.
