Traffic Advisory: Route 1 Westbound

The City of Saint John would like to advise the public of the following traffic interruption that will occur on September 12 on the Main Street Viaduct ramp to Route 1 Westbound and the ramp from Route 1 Westbound to the Main Street Viaduct. This work is necessary to complete work within the ramp for the Main Street Active Transportation Project.

Duration:  One (1) day

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Direction: Westbound

Action: Closed to through traffic

Specific area: Westbound on-ramp to Route 1 from Main Street Viaduct and off-ramp to Main Street Viaduct from Route 1.

Description of work: Infrastructure upgrades

Motorists are asked to use alternative routes to Route 1 such as Garden Street/Paradise Row and Crown Street/ the One Mile Interchange, when possible.

Road signage and sidewalk directional signage will be in place. Motorists are asked to drive with caution and be aware of pedestrians and workers. Delays should be expected.
