Traffic Advisory: Smythe Street

The City of Saint John would like to advise the public of the following traffic interruption that will begin on Friday, July 17. This closure is necessary to allow for pedestrian and motorist safety during the Maritime Fire Chief Annual General Meeting Truck Display.

Street: Smythe Street

Specific area: From Union Street to Station Street

Date: July 17, 2026

Duration: Two (2) days

Time: Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Direction: Southbound

Action: Southbound lanes will be closed. Northbound lanes will be converted to two-way traffic.

Description of work: Event

Road signage and sidewalk directional signage will be in place. Motorists are asked to drive with caution and be aware of pedestrians and workers.
