City Crews Ready as First Snowstorm Approaches

The City of Saint John’s crews and fleet are fully prepared for the first snowfall of the season, expected Tuesday afternoon, December 2, into Wednesday morning, December 3. All available equipment and personnel are ready to respond, with final preparations taking place today. Weather forecasts are being closely monitored to ensure the best possible response.

Snowfall combined with gusty winds Tuesday night may create challenging conditions. Similar storms in the past have led to:

  • Travel disruptions

  • Difficult driving conditions and reduced visibility

  • Power outages

How you can prepare:

  • Plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.

  • Avoid unnecessary driving during peak storm hours.

  • Keep sidewalks and entrances clear for safe access.

  • Ensure flashlights, batteries, and emergency supplies are on hand in case of power outages.

  • Stay tuned to official City channels for updates.

Together, with crews ready and residents prepared, we can keep our community safe and resilient during the season’s first storm.
