City hours and service schedules for the holidays

The City of Saint John would like to advise the public of the following hours and service schedules for the holidays:

Tuesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)

  • City Offices: All City offices including City Hall Customer Service Centre: Open 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Garbage and Compost Collection: South Central Peninsula collection will move to the night before, Monday Night, December 23
  • Saint John Transit: No service after 6:00 p.m.
  • Saint John City Market: 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • City Arenas: Closed – except for free public skating at Stewart Hurley Arena and Peter Murray Arena from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, December 25 (Christmas)

  • City Offices: All City offices including City Hall Customer Service Centre: Closed
  • Garbage and Compost Collection: Collection will move forward to Saturday, December 28
  • Saint John Transit: No service
  • Saint John City Market: Closed
  • City Arenas: Closed

Thursday, December 26 (Boxing Day)

  • City Offices: All City offices including City Hall Customer Service Centre: Closed
  • Saint John Transit: No service
  • Saint John City Market: Closed
  • City Arenas: Closed – except for free public Boxing Day Skate at the Stewart Hurley and Charles Gorman arenas.

Tuesday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve)

  • City Offices: All City offices including City Hall Customer Service Centre: Open 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Garbage and Compost Collection: Regular schedule
  • Saint John Transit: Regular service
  • Saint John City Market: 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • City Arenas: Closed – except for free public skating at Stewart Hurley Arena and Peter Murray Arena from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, January 1 (New Year’s Day)

  • City Offices: All City offices including City Hall Customer Service Centre: Closed
  • Garbage and Compost Collection: Regular schedule
  • Saint John Transit: No service
  • Saint John City Market: Closed
  • City Arenas: Closed
