The City of Saint John Celebrates NB Municipality Week 2025 with the Power of Inclusion: “We Shine Brighter Together”

This year, the City of Saint John is treating Municipality Week as more than a celebration - it’s a reflection of our values.

Under the theme “We Shine Brighter Together,” the City is highlighting the transformative impact of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) across all levels of municipal service.

“DEI is not just a policy - it’s an everyday practice,” says Brent McGovern, Chief Administrative Officer. “It’s how we build trust with our community, how we support our teams, and how we ensure that every resident feels seen, heard, and valued.”

The City’s commitment to DEI is rooted in the belief that inclusive workplaces lead to stronger communities. When staff feel empowered to bring their full selves to work, they’re better equipped to serve the public with empathy, innovation, and excellence.
