City of Saint John Hurricane Lee update

Update as of 5:00 p.m.

Wind and rainfall warnings remain in effect from Environment Canada, with winds still expected to reach 100km per hour, and rainfall amounts between 50-100mm in Saint John.  

Fallen trees have been reported in areas across the City. Crews and arborists are addressing the sites on a priority basis. The public is asked to avoid driving around fallen trees and use extreme caution in areas where crews are working.   

Reports of traffic lights not functioning due to power outages have been received. Any intersections where traffic lights are not working should be treated as a four-way stop.

Flooding is occurring on some roadways and other low-lying areas. Motorists are reminded to avoid driving through any flooded areas.

There are power outages in areas across the City. Visit Saint John Energy to report fallen power lines, and to check on outages and estimated restoration times.
