City of Saint John prepared for another significant winter storm

Based on the current weather forecast for tomorrow, January 29, the Saint John region is expected to receive anywhere from 20 to 35 cm of snow combined with wind gusts of up to 80 km/h, in addition to the snow accumulation from previous snowfalls.

Public Works crews have been preparing in advance of the pending storm and are out clearing around the clock. Crews will continue with a full plowing effort to clear streets and sidewalks once the storm begins tomorrow. City streets are plowed based on a priority system, view the interactive map here.

Residents can help with snow clearing efforts by parking off-street where possible and following any parking restrictions that are announced. Clearing catch basins and drains around your property is also very helpful.

A reminder that it is very important to keep children away from snowbanks near the roads and sidewalks when plows or snow removal equipment are operating. Plows often have limited visibility and road conditions can make it difficult to stop quickly. Please take precautions to keep everyone safe.

We thank the public for their cooperation and patience as we work around-the-clock to clear streets and sidewalks across the City. For information on priority routes, updates to overnight parking bans, and other municipal storm updates, visit www.saintjohn.ca/winter or call 658-4040.
