Multi-unit Recycling

Expanded Recycling Services Now Available for Multi-Family Residences in Saint John

The City of Saint John is pleased to announce changes to curbside recycling collection services for apartments and condos with more than four units. As part of New Brunswick’s recently expanded Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program, Circular Materials is enhancing recycling accessibility for packaging and paper products in multi-family dwellings (MFDs).

Owners and property managers of buildings with more than four units are encouraged to register for free recycling collection services by May 31, 2025. Registration can be completed at the following link: New Brunswick Multi-Family Dwelling Recycling | Circular Materials.

Additional information, including upcoming Information Sessions, is available on the website. Recycling collection and the containers provided for on-site storage are free of charge. Saint John Common Council is considering a by-law change that would require owners of buildings with more than four units to register and provide space for the recycling containers.

Expanding recycling options for more Saint John residents benefits the environment, extends the life of the regional landfill, and supports the city's WasteWise Program.
