Water flushing

Fire hydrant flushing begins in West Saint John on Monday

The City of Saint John is starting its annual fire hydrant flushing program beginning on June 27 in West Saint John.

Over the next few weeks flushing will be performed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. This may affect water customers in areas or subdivisions on or near King William Road, Ocean Westway, Manawagonish Road, Dever Road, Fairville Boulevard, Main Street West, and Milford/Randolph.

Customers may experience cloudy water when running taps during the time the pipes on their street are being flushed. Though customers may encounter a drop in water pressure, at no time should they be without water. The water is safe to consume.

As the hydrant flushing program continues throughout the summer, the City will update residents on locations and schedule.
