Lily Lake - Winter

Lily Lake open for public skating

Get those skates sharpened! Lily Lake in Rockwood Park is now open for skating in time for the Family Day long weekend. With the ice measuring 12 inches thick in several locations, it is considered safe for public skating and ice maintenance.

For your safety, please heed any warning signs posted on and around the ice. Certain areas may not always be safe for skating. Springs in the lake prevent strong ice from forming in some areas.

All skaters and other recreational ice users are also reminded to respect all COVID-19 public health guidelines so that we can keep the area safe and open to the public: wear a mask and maintain physical distancing from those not in your bubble. Dogs must also always remain on-leash.

The City will continue to monitor ice conditions and may need to close the lake to skating if conditions change. Any change will be communicated through the City's social media channels. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
