Millidge Avenue water access closure for upgrades starting July 8

The City of Saint John is advising residents that water access at the end of Millidge Avenue will be temporarily closed starting July 8. The closure is required to perform necessary upgrades to the existing infrastructure. These improvements will enhance safety, accessibility, and overall user experience.

The closure is necessary to perform upgrades that will bring the water access up to industry standards, improvement accessibility, and increase safety. The work will include replacing the current outdated water access with a new concrete boat ramp featuring textured concrete, floating docks, and an aluminum pedestrian gangway. The textured concrete will reduce the risk of slips and falls, further enhancing safety. The floating docks and aluminum gangway will significantly improve the ease of use for operators, ensuring a safer and more efficient means of loading and unloading boats into the Saint John River.

The closure will begin July 8 and is expected to continue until September 13.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve our community’s infrastructure.
