Pedway Closure

Notice of temporary closure of an additional section of Saint Patrick Street Pedway beginning September 23

The City of Saint John is advising the public that an additional section of the Saint Patrick Street Pedway will be temporarily closed for construction from Monday, September 23 to Saturday, September 28.

The pedway will be closed from City Hall to the Canada Games Aquatic Centre, in front of Rocky’s Sports Bar. Pedestrians will not be able to access the Canada Games Aquatic Centre or TD Station from City Hall.

City Hall can be accessed from the pedway via Brunswick Square or from the front doors on the ground level. TD Station and the Canada Games Aquatic Centre can be accessed from their main entrances.

This closure is necessary for the ongoing redevelopment of the Saint Patrick Street Pedway. During this improvement project, the two aging escalators are being removed and replaced by new stairs and an additional elevator is being installed.

Businesses with the pedway, Market Square and Brunswick Square will remain open during the construction. Rocky’s Sports Bar will be closed from Monday, September 23 to Sunday, September 29 for minor renovations.
