Planned activities for Canada Day cancelled in Saint John as we take time to reflect

The City of Saint John is devastated by the recent news of the discovery of 751 unmarked graves at a former residential school near Regina. As a community, we continue to mourn with the Indigenous communities and our country. Flags at all municipal facilities will be lowered to half-mast on June 25, 2021.

The City of Saint John will join other communities across the Canada to pause in solidarity this Canada Day. We encourage everyone to view this time as a critical point in our history, and a time to reflect – as individuals, a community and a nation – on our past and the course we can set for a better future.

The City has cancelled all planned activities for Canada Day.
