PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE MUNICIPAL PLAN AND ZONING BY-LAW OF THE CITY OF SAINT JOHN - PUBLIC HEARING

Public Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of The City of Saint John intends to consider amending the Municipal Plan (By-law Number C.P. 106) and the Zoning By-law of The City of Saint John (By-law Number C.P. 111) at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chambers on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.

 

The amendments affects Solar Energy Development in Rural areas, including:

 

  1. Permit solar energy development within additional zones in the City’s Rural areas.

 

  1. Editing the definition section of the Zoning By-Law.

 

  1. Allow Solar Energy Development in the Rural (RU) Zone.

 

The proposed amendments may be inspected by any interested person at the office of the City Clerk, or in the office of Growth and Community Development Services, City Hall, 15 Market Square, Saint John, N.B. between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, inclusive, holidays excepted.

 

Written objections to the amendment may be sent to the undersigned at City Hall.

The proposed Zoning By-law amendment may be read by section number only if no member of Council objects.
