Saint John Fire Department conducting training in Rockwood Park

The Saint John Fire Department is advising residents that our Training Division will be in Rockwood Park over the coming weeks conducting a training exercise with the Department of Natural Resources. Training is scheduled for May 27, June 1, June 2, and June 15.

Crews will be working in the Harrigan Lake Trail area using wildland firefighting equipment as part of ongoing preparation during the warmer months.

If you are in the park, you may notice fire crews and equipment in the area. This is planned training.

We ask that park users:

  • Stay clear of active training areas
  • Follow any directions from crews on site
  • Give firefighters and equipment plenty of space

The park will remain open, but there may be minor disruptions around the trail during the exercise.

Thank you for your cooperation as crews continue to train and stay prepared.
