Scooters and bikes now permitted at Station 1 All Wheels Park

Changes to the Saint John Skateboard By-Law were approved at Common Council last night to allow the use of scooters, rollerblades, and bikes within Station 1 All Wheels Park. They also approved changing the name of the park from Station 1 Skatepark to Station 1 All Wheels Park.

The proposal to rename Station 1 Skatepark to Station 1 All Wheels Park indicates a step towards inclusivity and accessibility within Saint John's recreational infrastructure. By adopting a more inclusive name, the park aims to reflect its commitment to accommodating various wheeled activities, including skateboarding, scootering, and biking. This renaming initiative not only acknowledges the evolving interests and preferences of the community but also emphasizes the park's role as a welcoming space for individuals of all ages and skill levels.

A new sign will be installed at the park at a later date.
