Sunshine Summer Program Returns for 2026: Free, Fun, and Active for Saint John Kids

The City of Saint John is pleased to offer a free recreation program for children this summer. Registration is required, and online registration is now open.

The Sunshine Summer Program is an 8 week outdoor focused program offered at nine locations across the city.

Community Center based sites open from June 22 to August 14, 2026

☀️ Community Centre Program Locations: 

• KBM Community Centre, 2452 Westfield Road

• Latimore Lake Community Centre, 615 Latimore Lake Road

• Lorneville Community Centre, 1141 Lorneville Road

• Milford Memorial Community Centre, 248 Milford Road

School-based sites open Thursday, June 25 to August 14, 2026

☀️ School-based Program Locations:

• Barnhill Memorial School, 750 Manawagonish Road

• Bayside Middle School, 75 Bayside Drive

• Glen Falls School, 10 Princess Court

• Hazen White–St. Francis School, 538 Sandy Point Road

• Lakewood Heights School, 56 Lensdale Crescent

🎒Who Can Participate

The Sunshine Program is designed for Saint John children ages 6–12. Daily activities include sports, active games, arts and crafts, and off site adventures.

🕒Program Hours

• Morning: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

• Afternoon: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

• Thursdays: Early pick up at 3:30 pm for weekly staff meetings.

📌Important Notes for Parents/Guardians

• The Sunshine Program is not a full time childcare service.

• A parent or guardian must be home and available throughout the day.

• There is no supervision during lunch hour; children must go home between sessions.
